The Louis Dreyfus Company Group is currently recruiting for a fulltime Gin Site Manager for our new site in Katherine, NT.
This position has full accountability for the management, planning, organising and safe operation of the cotton gin. All maintenance and ginning staff, both permanent and casual working in the area of responsibility will report to the Gin Manager. Travel to other sites will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gin operation and safety
- Monitor and maintain machinery and equipment to ensure continuity of production and quality
- Manage seasonal daily gin throughput
- KRA reporting
- Ensure work permits are completed for all high risk activity
- Maintain the physical appearance of the gin site
- Manage, develop and lead employees
Skills and experience to be successful in this role include:
- Demonstrated relevant experience
- Ability to identify/control weaknesses in process and implement best practices
- Mechanical, maintenance and/or electrical knowledge
- Prior experience managing staff in a maintenance/production environment
- Sound computer skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative and develop solutions for challenges when required
- Strong work ethic
- Demonstrated leadership capability
- Ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers and third parties
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
