About Grains & Oilseeds<\/h2>\n

Grains are an indispensable source of food in many developing nations, and play an important role in diets around the world, providing vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, oils and protein.<\/p>\n

We source grain products \u2013 including wheat, corn, sorghum and barley \u2013 from all major producing areas. Through our ever-growing network of processing, storage and distribution facilities, we bring these products – as well as derivative products such as dried distillers grains and corn-based ethanol – to key consumer regions such as Africa, the Middle East and Asia.<\/p>\n

We also originate, process, store and merchandize a wide range of oilseeds \u2013 including soybeans, sunflower seeds, canola, rapeseed, cottonseed, peanut, palm \u2013 and their derivatives, for global food, feed, energy and other industries.<\/p>\n

Meal from oilseeds is predominantly used as a protein ingredient in animal feeds. Soybean meal is the world\u2019s largest source of meal protein, accounting for more than 80% of the total according to the United States Department of Agriculture<\/a> (USDA).<\/p>\n

Vegetable oils can be used to create biodiesel and other derivative products for industrial, specialty chemical, personal care, cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.<\/p>\n

Leaders in Grains in Argentina<\/h2>\n

In Argentina, LDC specializes in selling exportable surpluses of wheat, corn, sorghum, and barley to global markets through its extensive network of offices, distribution centers, and logistical and storage assets worldwide. Our origination business in the country is closely integrated with the marketing of other agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection products, which reach producers through our brands\u00a0Macro Seed,\u00a0Macro Fertil, and\u00a0Macro Protect, respectively.<\/p>\n

Our broad asset network allows us to be much closer to local producers, offering them logistical and financial solutions, as well as professional technical support throughout the year.<\/p>\n

We own two agro-industrial complexes in\u00a0General Lagos\u00a0and\u00a0Timb\u00faes\u00a0in the province of Santa Fe, and in\u00a0Bah\u00eda Blanca, in the province of Buenos Aires, and we have a network of storage plants and commercial offices in more than 22 locations across the country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Oilseeds Strengths in Argentina<\/h2>\n

LDC is one of the leading exporters of soybeans, soybean meal, and soybean oil, as well as biodiesel made from this oilseed. In addition, it sources other high-oil-content seeds such as canola, sorghum, sunflower, and camelina\u2014the latter as part of a plan aimed at producing sustainable oil<\/strong> for the aviation industry. In line with this strategy, we are building a new high-oil-content oilseed crushing plant within the\u00a0Timb\u00faes agro-industrial complex, which will further strengthen our processing capacity and commitment to sustainable innovation.<\/p>\n

We purchase soybeans directly from producers and through a broad network of market intermediaries, including third-party elevators, cooperatives, and brokers. The acquired products are either exported or processed at our crushing plants, where they are transformed into meal, oil, glycerin, and lecithin, for subsequent commercialization in both local and international markets.<\/p>\n

Our assets include logistics centers in the interior of the country, storage facilities, processing plants, biodiesel and lecithin installations, and ports. We have invested in two major plants located near\u00a0Rosario, in the province of\u00a0Santa Fe, with a combined processing capacity of approximately\u00a019,000 tons per day. Both have their own port terminals.<\/p>\n

To strengthen our presence across the value chain, we have also invested in two biodiesel<\/strong> plants and a lecithin<\/strong> production line, in addition to incorporating\u00a0glycerin<\/strong> production\u00a0as part of the biodiesel manufacturing process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Present in key destinations throughout Argentina\u2019s main crop growing areas, we offer a wide variety of fertilizers and inputs for Argentine producers. We distribute nitrogen, phosphate and potassium fertilizers, as well as crop protection products.<\/p>\n

Our Seeds business first started operating in the country in 2009. Thanks to\u00a0quality genetics, and a presence throughout Argentina’s agricultural areas, we are rapidly becoming one of the market\u2019s largest players.<\/p>\n

We market a range of seed products under the brand\u00a0Macro Seed<\/em>, each\u00a0variety of which has particular strengths, ranging from high yield potential to resilience during climate fluctuation.<\/p>\n

Macro Seed<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>varieties are the result of years of research and development, aiming to increase crop productivity while promoting the sustainable use of natural resources.<\/p>\n

Diversifying Downstream<\/h2>\n

We market our own brands of refined soybean oil (Vila Velha<\/em>), cottonseed meal (Pagador<\/em>) and peanut meal (Mandubi<\/em>) in Brazil, and various edible oils under our Vibhor <\/em>brand in India, as well as three cooking oils to the Chinese business to business (B2B) market: Fu Bai Xiang,<\/em> Hong Fu Le <\/em>and Chef Fu<\/em>, the latter in partnership with leading e-commerce platform Meituan<\/em>, to reach the restaurant and catering sector.<\/p>\n

To complement our B2B line, we also launched our first high-end consumer cooking oil brand Mastergold <\/em>in China, addressing growing domestic demand for premium oils with nine types of edible oil, including grape seed, safflower seed, perilla seed and others.<\/p>\n
