Buenos Aires, Argentina<\/strong>, October 29, 2024 \u2013 Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) announced today the renewal, for another ten years, of their technical cooperation partnership for the exclusive development and commercialization of bread wheat seed varieties in Argentina through LDC’s commercial channels. These varieties will continue to be marketed under LDC’s seed brand, Macro Seed<\/em><\/a>, and in this new phase, the focus will be on product health and yield potential, highly valued by wheat growers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Group is proud to renew its partnership with INTA, allowing us to continue offering our clients wheat varieties with excellent germplasm and the necessary variability to adapt to the challenges currently facing agricultural producers in Argentina\u2019s different wheat-growing areas,\u201d says Pepe Autilio, LDC\u2019s Head of Seeds. \u201cThis collaboration enables a significant contribution to Argentine agriculture, as an important step forward to further strengthen the sector\u2019s competitiveness in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this partnership, more than 500,000 hectares have been planted since 2014, with 22 seed varieties obtained from INTA’s National Bread Wheat Improvement Plan<\/em> and commercialized by LDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe renewal of this agreement demonstrates our mutual trust and commitment to amplify the impact of our research in the field, and emphasizes the importance of public-private sector synergies to continue facilitating access to cutting-edge technological innovation in wheat for producers,\u201d says Mar\u00eda Beatriz Giraudo, vice president of INTA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This public-private initiative seeks not only to offer bread wheat varieties that are adapted to all production environments, but to promote these products on the occasion of technical workshops and field days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macro Seed<\/em>\u2019s bread wheat varieties developed with INTA technology are distributed in Argentina and Uruguay, with plans underway to enter the Paraguayan market starting in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
