Buenos Aires, Argentina<\/strong>, August 5, 2025 \u2013 Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) announced today strategic investments supporting its grains & oilseeds origination activities in Argentina, on the occasion of the inauguration of its new warehouse and port terminal in Santa Elena, Entre R\u00edos. Attended by national and provincial authorities, local farmers and industry stakeholders, the event marked the reopening of a key logistics hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since acquiring the Santa Elena facility in March 2025<\/a>, LDC has invested to bring the site up to the highest global safety and operational standards and upgraded the facility for full reactivation of both the warehouse and port infrastructure, including river dredging to support efficient barge loading. These improvements provide better connectivity, linking grain and oilseed production in Entre R\u00edos and southern Corrientes to LDC\u2019s crushing plants in Santa Fe, ensuring year-round transport and reducing logistics costs for local producers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Santa Elena site now features a fully operational commercial office that offers a wide range of services and products tailored to local producers. With the restored port, modernized facilities and a dedicated local team, LDC aims to be a preferred and strategic partner for farmers in the region by helping to boost agricultural productivity and expand cultivated areas over pastureland,\u201d said LDC\u2019s Group COO and Head of Latin America, Juan Jos\u00e9 Blanchard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the inauguration event in Santa Elena, LDC announced the completion and start of other investments in the country, in line with its global strategy to further reinforce core merchandizing capabilities \u2013 in this case, for grains and oilseeds origination in Argentina:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company celebrated completion of expansion works at its warehouse in Campo Largo, El Chaco<\/strong>, which have increased the site\u2019s storage capacity from 3,000 to 13,000 tons with the addition of two new silos, and also enhanced local fire prevention systems. Around 100 subcontracted workers contributed to the 10-month project. This warehouse is already connected to the Belgrano Cargas railway, helping northern production to reach LDC\u2019s ports efficiently and at lower costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to existing cotton ginning operations, LDC\u2019s facility in Quimil\u00ed, Santiago del Estero<\/strong>, was officially authorized to operate as a grains and oilseeds warehouse and now has static storage capacity for up to 50,000 tons in silo bags. LDC plans to begin receiving wheat in October, followed by sunflower in December. This development provides local farmers with a convenient delivery point, reduces logistical costs and connects regional production to LDC\u2019s broader industrial network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, in General Paz, C\u00f3rdoba<\/strong>,<\/strong> a new warehouse with capacity to store 3,000 tons of products will be constructed starting in August, with direct access to the Belgrano Cargas rail network. Once completed in the first half of 2026, the site will support year-round logistics efficiency and employ a dozen people. Approximately 120 contractors will be involved in the construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
