Summary
This position is responsible for providing procurement support to LDC – NAM facilities. Evaluates current and forecasted requirements for assigned categories. Analyzes market conditions for assigned categories and leverage a favorable spend for all facilities. This position can be located at any LDC office in North America.
•Responsible for implementing the Procurement strategy, developing and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders including internal customers, suppliers, and project teams.
•Develops, implements and handles robust market analysis/ bench-marking processes; leverages key insights to inform and support the category strategy development process. Applies knowledge in contract development including key contracting principles, standard terms, laws/regulations and industry standards.
•Participates in the capital budgeting process for assigned categories within all NAM facilities supported by Procurement.
•Delivers value through the implementation of effective negotiation strategies that reduce both organizational costs and risks while improving supplier/business partner performance and encouraging innovation from the supply base.
•Maintains knowledge of current trends, supplier capabilities and changes within the category landscape for traditional and emerging solutions.
•Works with internal Legal and Risk Management teams to mitigate risk through the review of both legal and business terms and conditions.
•Responsible for the administration of spend authorization to ensure appropriate approvals and controls are in place.
•Assists with developing and building category management processes and procedures and facilitates continuous improvement.
•Conducts research via the Internet, catalogues, trade publications, and trade shows to identify potential suppliers.
•Defines KPIs to track the strategy realization and review compliance for Suppliers within assigned categories.
•Reviews, converts and processes Requisitions into Purchase Orders using a computerized maintenance management system.
•Serves as the procurement point of contact to assigned facilities for resolving all issues with requisitions, purchase orders.
•Supports the implementation of procurement strategies, policies and procedures.
•Participates in cross-functional training and other continuous improvement effort initiatives.
•Assists in maintaining purchasing data and systems.
•Conducts RFQ/RFP not covered by Category Management.
•Assists with systems user training and technology implementation including regional data collection and reporting.
•Other duties as assigned by management
Experience:
• Developing and executing successful strategies for procurement of various chemicals used in LDC’s manufacturing operations across North America. These chemicals may include Methanoyl, HCL acid, Phosphoric acid, Methylate, chemical additives, specialty chemicals, packaging, and other chemical used in support of daily operation of the facilities.
• Developing solid working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders while also achieving business goals.
• Market reporting and analysis including consumption trends, pricing trends, and market trends.
• Partnering with the LDC facilities develop new trials for new chemical to develop more economical materials to improve cost and meet LDC’s sustainability goals.
• Preparing presentations and presenting to internal stakeholders including senior leadership and ownership.
•Must be able to work a hybrid schedule - at least two days in the office, three days remote
•Knowledge of purchasing processes and workflows
•Strong customer service orientation
•Knowledge of specific industrial categories including Chemicals, MRO supplies, etc. is required.
•Familiar with ERP systems (ePac and SAP) preferred
•Ability to read, interpret and administer contract specifications within the Procurement process
•Ability to continuously improve in a team environment, working with accounting and any other department
•Ability to work under pressure with time constraints
•Ability to work with minimal supervision with solid decision making skills
•Software knowledge: MS Word, Excel (advanced skill-set) and Power Point.
•Demonstrated ability to efficiently communicate with internal and external stakeholders in verbal and written form.
•Excellent organization and follow-through skills

A bachelor's degree in the supply chain, procurement, or a related field plus 5+ years of experience in industrial chemicals.
