The North Europe Coffee Sales Trader will develop ways to increase our sales volumes to green coffee buyers in North Europe with a stronger focus on Germany. You will offer insights to help shape the development of LDC’s coffee operations in the region through proposals, planning and possibly implementation of new trade flows through creative logistics, strategic positions or agency structures/team development/etc.
• Work closely with Roasters/Dealers/Brokers and their customers to drive acceptance of LDC Green coffee into their supply chains.
• Suggest and deploy agreed positions, negotiate, and manage trades (re-assess and adjust if necessary); identify potential issues early and address them to minimize damage.
• Oversee and coordinate execution of the transactions until fulfilment, inventory management, invoice payments, risk exposure, quality control etc., from origin to final contracted terms.
• Collect and address customers’ interest, questions and concerns on LDC coffees and capacities whether they are technical, commercial, or operational.
• Support our quality, manufacturing, supply chain and sourcing teams to ensure we deliver the best-in-class product for the market.
• Continuously map Coffee demand and identify key players, monitor market development activities to align with company business goals.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Travel regularly to Germany/Scandinavia/Eastern Europe/Origin according to the business needs.

This position would be based in Hamburg or Geneva.

• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
• Seven years and above experience in Coffee trading and/or Coffee roasting industry a strong plus
• Experience in global company and matrix organizations
• Good knowledge of business plan drafting and presentation.
• Ability to clearly articulate complex topics
• Good analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• English (Fluent)
• German (Fluent)
Relevant University degree
