Summary
Overall Purpose and Objective of Position This position supports the US Oils and Biodiesel trader with marketing, hedging, logistics and research. Trader will participate in general trading discussions within the North American group as well as global discussions with a vegetable oil focus.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Merchandises soybean oil, canola oil and biodiesel
• Ties out cash and futures positions daily
• Collaborates with the Claypool commercial team on truck and rail logistics
• Contributes to North American research with a primary focus on US oils research
• Develops & recommends oilseeds and energy hedging strategies relating to
liquids and the industrial facility.
• Coordinates with Calgary office to integrate North American oil merchandising
and information flow.
• Develops and maintains commercial relationships to expand market penetration
& drive information flow.
• Assists in business analysis for external and internal implementation.
• Keeps abreast of all liquid trade rule developments.
• Becomes familiar with soy complex balance sheets and trade strategies to
support desk.
Additional Responsibilities
• Merchant lead on Key Performance Indicators, Daily Production Report, and
other industrial reports.
• Other job duties that may be assigned.
The following is the basic qualification:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a commodity merchandising role

The following are the preferred qualifications:
Experience in agribusiness, biofuels or related business
Experience in oilseeds merchandising and/or industrial analysis / development
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are the basic qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership capacity and exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with all levels within the organization.

Decision Making/Accountability
This position develops, recommends, and implements oil, biodiesel and glycerin trading strategies. This position is also expected to become involved in general trading discussions. Additional duties include business management for crush operations and leadership in additional liquid asset opportunities.
