Summary
This position provides supervisory, administrative, and analytical support to the Execution Department in the Kansas City, MO office of a global merchandiser and processor of agricultural goods. Secondary department functions include over sight and direction of the freight payables, inventory manufacturing, and compliance reporting processes. This position will oversee, review, and submit reports required for governmental compliance. This includes the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) programs. The supervisor will ensure compliance with external and internal biofuels certification audits. They will also develop procedures for monitoring information and data for compliance, customers and internal business requirements. Daily contact with internal departments (merchandising, logistics, position group, tax, compliance, accounting, execution) and external customers (commercial sellers, brokers, producers) is integral to the position.
• Supervise a group of 4-15 associates across all transactional areas (truck, rail, barge)
• Maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the group.
• Provide direction, training, support, and evaluation of the group leads and their associates.
• Be able to perform all of the essential functions of the settlements, freight, and inventory control associates.
o Assists with the reconciliation of the daily position record for assigned locations.
o Manages all required documentation (tickets, bill of lading, weight & grade certificates, invoices).
o Verifies weights, taxes, RINs (renewable Identification Numbers), discounts, program charges, and freight liability.
o Generates purchase and sale advances.
o Processes final purchase and sale settlements.
o Work with treasury to ensure timely payment and application of all cash transactions.
o Match railroad freight invoices (cars, rates, amounts) to company records for payment
o Carry out contract entry and payment/invoicing of executed trades for transportation trading desk.
o Oversee rail freight related activities including demurrage, dispatch, incentives, and rebates.
o Support and verify truck freight payables completed at local facilities for payment by the KC office.
o Communicates with customers to resolve payments; past due accounts; and document discrepancies
o Support the timely completion of the Daily Position Record for multiple locations.
o Preparation of inventory schedules and account for differences between book inventory and observed physical quantities at company and off-site locations.
o Reconciliation in various systems of inbound/outbound commodity tickets for plant and elevators
o Calculation, valuation, and entry of commodity production entries for the firms biofuels plants.

Additional Responsibilities
• Correspond in a timely manner with all internal and external customer requests.
• Maintain all files and documentation associated with the execution process.
• RIN/biofuels reconciliations, RIN Generation, RIN purchase and sales
• Carbon Intensity reconciliations
• Initiates SBLC’s (Standby Letter of Credits)
• Weekly verification of ACH reports.
• Approve and create check/wire batches for payables
• Approves time cards
• Assist in maintaining freight processing system related to shipment company setup, etc.
• Fulfill requests for freight information from various departments (transportation, accounting, execution).
• Support month end processing functions for accounting and execution as needed.
• Fulfill requests for inventory or production information from internal/external sources
• Assists in pulling audit information for accountants.
Basic qualification:
• Five years of clerical accounting experience with minimum of three years lead or supervisory experience.

Preferred qualification:
• Agricultural industry experience.
Basic qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and propose solutions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple, detail oriented tasks and meet strict daily deadlines.

Basic qualification: • High school diploma. Preferred qualification: • At least two years of college with some accounting coursework.
