Summary
Overall Purpose and Objective of Position This position is responsible for performing daily and monthly financial accounting activities for the merchandising and production entities for an international commodity-trading firm. This position will prepare and post most journal entries, perform intercompany reconciliations, complete monthly budget vs. actual analysis over operating expenditures and reconciliation of daily activities to month end accounting results.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Assist with month close process in a timely matter, keeping deadlines in mind.
• Prepare and post most of the journal entries for merchandising and production entities.
• Prepare, upload and reconcile intercompany activity in ICS.
• Completes all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and closing journal entries.
• Prepare budgets annually, working with various members of the industrial and merchandising companies to compile results.
• Analyze monthly variance analysis for actual results vs. budgeted amounts. In addition, analyze quarterly changes year over year and assist in presentation preparation.
• Communicate with various levels of management throughout the company.
• Addresses special requests/projects, such as performing additional analyses of financial data and preparing ad-hoc reports.

**Must be authorized to work for all U.S. Employers**
One to five years of experience in accounting or related discipline.
•Knowledge of General Ledger accounting practices, specifically account reconciliations, accruals and journal
entries applicable to for-profit businesses
• Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize multiple tasks to accommodate strict deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• English (Fluent)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
