Summary
LDC is looking for a Lab/Facility/pilot plant Manager to provide basic operation and functioning to support to all R&D & piloting efforts. Major responsibility for this position is to ensure smooth operation of the facility and safety of our lab and pilot plant operations. Additionally, the facility manager will take care of procurement, inventory tracking, lab safety, waste management, and equipment maintenance/repair.
· Develop SHE program with global SHE operation, including training, documentation, and procedures necessary for local and state regulatory compliance
· Manage office, lab and pilot plant facility with a 5S lean manufacturing concept
· Coordinate waste handling system; safe accumulation, storage and removal from site
. Ensure compliance of LDC laboratory standards and practice with R&D scientist and engineers
· Order labware and consumables with opex laboratory budget seeking competitive pricing and work with NAM procurement team
· Set-up and implement to track and organize inventory; storage location for laboratory chemicals, lab ware, ingredients, and consumables
· Knowledge of GLP, GMP, and other state and city regulatory requirements for food ingredients lab
· Build a system for tracking the capital lab equipment and service contracts; maintain service contracts and instruments and equipment and vendor relationships
· Experience working in a food industry lab, pilot plant, and/or manufacturing environment,
· Lab Management experience with 5+ years total biotech/food tech industry experience
· knowledge with pilot plant instrumentation (Decanter, Disc Stacks, Mixers, Pasteurizers, etc.)
· Organized with great attention to detail
· Both a team player and an individual contributor
· Problem solving and continuous improvement skills:
· Good verbal and written communication
· Understanding of laboratory equipment and instrumentation (centrifuges, homogenizers, LECO, HPLC-MS, GCMS, rheometer, etc.)
· Understanding of food quality systems to ensure safe food protype sample production
• English (Fluent)
· Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biology, Food Science, or relevant field
