Company Description
This position is local role supporting the Regional team on S&D of cotton. The research analyst's responsibilities include researching, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, and using the data to guide the business's decision-making.
•To be able to calculate demand /consumption of Agri commodities.

•Estimate Supply & Demand(S&D) of entire cotton textile value chain such as upstream and downstream of cotton industry regularly by collecting data from below:
a) Official sources like research institutes, state farms, PBS etc.
b) Calculating S&D of cotton through visual estimation.
c) Farmer's interviews , Mill Survey , Ginner's interview , Balance sheet reconciliation etc.
d) Gathering of information from third parties.
e) Track all data i.e. such as Govt. Crops estimate, export, import, financial reports of Public textile industry, trade data, prices etc.
f) Creating automation tools using macros, power pivot in MS Excel, Power BI which can help in making the task of updating data, swift and efficient.

•Implementation and supervision of agreed research methodology for crop estimation, export /Imports and demand of Made ups of textile industry.

•Regularly updating and maintaining databases / time series data and contribution to the development of the research methodology and strategy and continuously bring improvisation besides following the regular methodology.

•Continuous review of the methodology being applied in view of observations made during crop tours, conducting difference surveys etc.

•Collection and evaluation of primary and secondary data and performing sanity check on databases and external sources to ensure consistency of data.

•Highlight the risks to the Supply & Demand of Cotton, upstream and downstream public textile crop estimate by working out various scenarios.

•Assessment of the impact of various scenarios on S&D and associated probabilities such as weather, pests, diseases and changing costs or supply of inputs or labor etc.

•Conducting Gin, Mills & Farmers surveys, and Balance Sheet reconciliation.

•Creating comprehensive and user-friendly databases for cotton supply and demand estimates.

•Coordinate with Agronomists, regional teams for S&D.
•2 to 3 years’ experience with the right skill sets.

•Agri Commodities experience (Preferable)
•Strong data Analytical & Problem-solving skills of big data sets.

•Working knowledge in Advance Excel & Power BI (Must have)

•SQL and basis knowledge of Python (coding, to be able to correct errors while running python report. (Preference)

•Willing to travel upcountry on tour whenever required (Must)

•Open to learn new skills and with an interest in agriculture field.
• English (Intermediate)
•Master’s in Mathematics & Economics / Masters in Statistics/ Masters in Agricultural statistics / Masters in Agri Business.
