Beijing<\/strong>, China<\/strong>,\nNovember 6<\/strong>, 2020<\/strong> – Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC)\nmade its mark at the third China International Import Expo<\/em> (CIIE) in\nShanghai, signing new agreements with long-standing\nChinese partners with value exceeding US$2.4 billion (RMB15.9 billion), to\nbring high-quality agricultural products to the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCIIE 2020 is a new occasion to demonstrate LDC\u2019s\ncommitment to the Chinese market, as a company rooted in China for almost 50\nyears,\u201d said Michael Gelchie, LDC\u2019s Group CEO. \u201cWe are very pleased to see\nChina\u2019s economic resilience despite the challenges of Covid-19, and CIIE creates\nnew opportunities for open dialogue and enhanced understanding toward increased\ninternational economic and trade cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating for the third consecutive year, LDC\nis showcasing a diverse range of responsibly sourced and produced food and\nagricultural products at CIIE, from soybeans, corn and sugar, to packaged cooking\noils, citrus juices and coffee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe \u201cdual circulation\u201d economic strategy laid out by\nPresident Xi Jinping represents an unprecedented opportunity for LDC. We are\ncommitted to leveraging our global presence and working with partners in China\nto provide more diversified agricultural import sources, and build safe, fair\nand sustainable supply chains that meet the evolving needs of China\u2019s 1.4\nbillion consumers,\u201d said James Zhou, Head of Asia and Chief Commercial Officer\nfor the Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At CIIE 2019, LDC launched its new\npackaged oil brand, Mastergold<\/em>, to\nbring high-quality, nutritious cooking oils to Chinese families. At this year\u2019s\nevent, LDC presents new Mastergold<\/em> products such as rice oil, olive oil,\nflaxseed oil and others, to meet Chinese consumers\u2019 demand for high-end,\nhealthy edible oils. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCIIE significantly boosted our new product launch efforts\nin 2019, and we achieved very good sales performance since then,\u201d said Jerrity\nChen, Head of North Asia at LDC. \u201cAs one of the longest-standing foreign\ninvestors in China, we are very pleased and proud to present our new product\nline at CIIE 2020, as well as our progress toward more integrated, transparent\nand traceable supply chains, moving closer to Chinese consumers and responding\nto their needs and expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
