As part of our commitment to fostering sustainable development in food and agricultural production, including by nurturing future leaders in this area, we proudly joined the Capstone Project of the \u2018Future Leaders\u2019 international undergraduate program at Peking University Guanghua School of Management<\/em><\/a> (PKU Guanghua) <\/em>as a corporate mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, and under LDC\u2019s mentorship, the Capstone Project included decarbonization research to bridge the gap between theory and real-world practice, while empowering young talents to lay a foundation for impactful careers in sustainable development by addressing concrete climate-related challenges as part of this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initiated by Peking University<\/em>, the program collaborates with 14 leading global business schools to nurture international leaders with a strong sense of purpose and cross-cultural understanding. Its Capstone Project follows a \u2018mini-consulting\u2019 approach that challenges students to apply their academic knowledge in solving real-world business challenges presented by partner companies like LDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As partners to the program, LDC designed a comprehensive, two-month mentoring program to equip students with essential knowledge and skills on practical decarbonization applications, including through on-site research opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating students explored the way that greenhouse gases affect climate change, reviewing and analyzing historical records, macroeconomic data and predictive modeling related to CO2<\/sub> emissions, and visiting both our Beijing office and Tianjin Grains & Oilseeds plant to gain firsthand insights into emissions reduction methods, before working on a specific research project focused on finding new emissions reduction solutions for Tianjin plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Capstone Project\u2019s final presentations, eight undergraduate students from different countries and regions presented their research findings and proposed concrete solutions for our decarbonization strategy at Tianjin Plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
