  • Strategic Financial Reporting & Compliance: To support the Regional Head by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for all group entities under scope (monthly, quarterly, and annually). This involves deep analysis of financial data and rigorous adherence to LDC, IFRS, and local accounting procedures, while actively supporting the deployment of standard LDC accounting processes across the countries to guarantee data quality and timeliness.
  • Centralized Stakeholder Management & Control: To function as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for all East African Finance (EAF) accounting and controlling matters. This requires building and managing critical stakeholder relationships and possessing the ability to proactively challenge those stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and optimize contribution to defined financial deliverables..

Key Responsibilities

 1. Regional Financial Controlling:

  • Support financial reporting and analysis across multiple countries
  • Assist country teams with budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring
  • Ensure accurate reporting of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, overheads, and tax
  • Analyze monthly P&L drivers and bridge Stat vs Managerial numbers
  • Oversee stock management and reconciliations
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports including Mark-to-Market analysis
  • Lead country business reviews with EMEA Finance team

 2. Budgeting and forecasting:

  • Preparation of budget reforecast and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with regional heads on annual budgets and reforecasts
  • Analyze budget variances and fixed asset expenditures
  • Upload approved budgets into LDC groups reporting system
  • Provide monthly P&L insights (expenditure vs budget) to platform heads

3. Accounting & Reporting:

  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with IFRS/local GAAP
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Review expense accruals, VAT returns, and ledger balances
  • Monitor debtors aging, intercompany reports, AP/AR positions
  • Assist with internal and external audits

 4. Tax & Treasury:

  • Manage tax obligations for entities under scope
  • Support tax audits and liaise with SSC on compliance matters
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes
  • Ensure the entities are sufficiently funded to run their business
  • Ensure to optimize the funding cost of the entities

5. Business Analysis & Support:

  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making
  • Evaluate operational financial impacts with the business units
  • Act as primary contact for balance sheet reviews, vessel P&L recalculations
  • Oversee fixed asset reporting and physical verification
  • Lead treasury reporting activities
