Historically a green coffee merchant, LDC opened its first freeze-dried instant coffee plant in Vietnam in September 2023 with an ambition to significantly invest in the instant coffee space in the coming years. EMEA is a large and diverse market for instant coffee. This role will be important in developing the instant coffee business in the region, responsible to market the plant production, look for new business opportunities in the region and work closely with the green coffee marketing team.

 

Main accountabilities:

EMEA Business development & instant coffee marketing strategy

  • Marketing strategy: In line with the global instant coffee strategy, involving in developing marketing strategy for EMEA Region including demand mapping, segmentation and setting long-term objectives

  • New business development: Identify business development opportunities beyond current marketing perimeter

  • Market intelligence: Aid in price discovery, gather market information on competition, supply, demand, trends to improve information quality for strategy decisions

Customer and sales management

  • Sales: manage the existing relationship with customers and develop relationships with new customers to increase LDC market share in the EMEA region. Develop effective marketing tools to reach new accounts and managing relationships with key buyers regionally 

  • Execution: work with the execution team to meet our contractual obligation, oversight and coordination of execution until fulfilment: i.e., inventory management, invoice payments, risk exposure, quality control…

  • Reporting: use existing reporting tools to ensure that correct information is recorded. Support the continuous improvement of our internal information systems

  • Work closely with the green coffee marketing teams to leverage our existing customer relationships

Support and Internal Processes

  • Close collaboration with global commercial team to ensure consistency across regions and knowledge sharing

  • Build close relationship with the factory management, QA and logistics teams and develop strong knowledge of the production asset

 

Experience and knowledge:

  • 3-4 years of similar experience in a similar role, if not coffee at least food & beverage industry

  • Solid experience in sales & marketing management preferably with track records in the instant coffee market

  • Good understanding of position and risk management

  • Instant coffee sales and B2B marketing (at least food & beverage industry knowledge)

 

Competencies:

  • Self-starter, entrepreneurship and adaptable to changing and dynamic business environment 

  • Customer management and negotiation skills / contacts within the instant coffee industry 

  • Understanding of coffee price structure

  • Good understanding of supply chain and contract terms (incoterms, risks and costings)

  • Team spirit

  • Dedicated and Autonomous

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Structured and diligent

  • Fluent in English, working knowledge of German, Spanish or any other European language is a plus.

  • Knowledge of common business software tools (Microsoft office, Power BI…)
