Sustainability in Germany
At LDC, we see ourselves as an integral part of local communities around our operations, and are committed to contributing to their welfare and development, through projects and initiatives specifically tailored to local needs.
LDC employees in Wittenberg regularly take part in activities to support their community, for example supplying educational books to local elementary schools, supporting a local football youth division, or fundraising through annual participation in the Berlin Marathon, for donation to a local school for children with learning difficulties and mental illness.
Most recently, LDC supported the creation of an organic garden with fruit trees and vegetable patches. Located in a recreational camp in the area, the garden provides a quiet and safe outdoor space for the enjoyment of local residents.
At LDC, we are committed to contributing to the global effort to provide sustenance for a growing global population, working with our partners to create fair and sustainable value across the food chain.
To ensure that we continue to improve, we set sustainability targets across our business and report on our progress regularly, through reports that detail how we have performed.
Our annual sustainability reports also highlight key successes and challenges, and set out LDC’s forward-looking focus to deliver on our commitments to sustainability and transparency.
