The company is co-owned by its\nfounding members: ADM (NYSE: ADM), Bunge (NYSE: BG), Cargill, COFCO, Louis\nDreyfus Company and Glencore Agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Covantis\nalso announced its governance structure and executive appointments. \u201cAfter a\nthorough search process, we are very pleased to appoint Petya Sechanova as the\ncompany\u2019s CEO,\u201d said Stefano Rettore, an independent advisor to the\norganization. \u201cPetya brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Covantis and has\nbeen fundamental in shaping the initiative since its inception in 2018.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sechanova\nhas more than 20 years of experience in multinational companies, including 11\nyears with Cargill, during which she has served in a series of leadership\npositions, including, most recently, trade operations leader. Stefano Rettore\nwill continue in his role as an independent advisor to the board until June,\nafter which his successor will be announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re\nexcited to create Covantis as a company. This paves the way toward launching the\nfirst release of our industry-changing digital solution, focusing initially on\ngrains and oilseeds post-trade execution processes,\u201d Sechanova said. \u201cIn\nconversations with stakeholders around the world and up and down the value\nchain, we\u2019ve heard time and again how critical it is for our entire industry to\nmodernize our outdated global grain trading operations. Now that we\u2019ve received\nregulatory approvals and incorporated Covantis as a legal entity, we focus on the\npreparation of the 2020 launch of the new platform.\u201d &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Board of Directors consisting of one\nmember from each of the six co-founders will oversee the company and help to\nguide its evolution. The Board will be chaired by one of the Directors and will\nrotate annually. The Director appointed by Louis Dreyfus Company will act as Chair for the first 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re\nparticularly pleased to announce that we are locating the company in Switzerland,\u201d\nSechanova added. \u201cSwitzerland is a thriving technology innovation hub, with\naccess to tremendous talent and expertise in blockchain solutions.
