LDC is looking for an analytical and driven trader to join the Coffee Futures Trading team in Geneva. The person would be responsible for hedging the group’s physical cash positions, trading short-term market moves and assisting in the deployment of the longer-term strategies agreed upon by the Group. Constant in-depth analysis of the futures and markets is required to assist with trading and position optimization. Proficient option trading and experience is important, to take advantage of volatility, direction or mitigating risk. 


Main responsibilities

  • Assist in the Management of commercial hedge flow and proprietary trading for the global coffee platform
  • Participate in the analysis and decisions associated to the group hedge and proprietary positions 
  • Assist in the daily management of the Hedge Desk: be accountable for hedging price, spread and residual exposures for both coffee futures contracts
  • Supervise pricing orders from clients/traders. Ensure they are properly executed, confirmed and booked
  • Support teams: Assist the trading teams with all their hedging related questions: spread booking, best timing for pricings, optionality, events on the physical side.
  • Perform technical analysis to improve short-term trading and spot non-fundamental opportunities
  • Perform regular CoT, Open Interest and Market Volume analyses to derive opportunities
  • Work with in-house data scientists to develop and improve trading models with both fundamental and technical inputs
  • Be comfortable managing and pricing options positions, both directional and volatility based.
  • Participate in daily/weekly P&L calculations
  • Assist marketing team with reports

Experience

  • 4-8 years of futures experience, either in a prop or broker role


Skills

  • Electronic trading proficiency
  • Option trading proficiency
  • Very good knowledge in commodity trade.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel (formulation/models) and Microsoft Office.
  • Good understanding of macro and micro economics
  • Coding experience preferred, to facilitate work on research and trading models (specifically Python and SQL)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent aptitudes for communication and presentation, experience of working in an international environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Capacity and willingness to actively participate in the global trading positions and develop broader business strategy.
