The North American Grains and Oilseeds Middle Office is a dynamic and proactive business partner providing a vital data and analytical link between Front Office commodity traders and Back Office teams throughout the company. This position will be specifically responsible for supporting Middle Office functions such as position reporting and market values for the Grains and Oilseeds platform as well as other regional platforms.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Analyzes data and performs controls to validate the accuracy of positions.
  • Distributes positions as needed and support commercial and finance on any inquiries or issues.
  • Manages new business needs to ensure all products are reported accurately.
  • Preparation of monthly global position report for Compliance.
  • Reconciles trade position vs accounting position and adjust accordingly after thorough analysis.
  • Helps create and implement PowerBI dashboards that support the commercial and finance team to streamline process and create more efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Supports other regional Middle Office platforms as needed.
  • Performs contract analysis and communicate inaccuracies to merchandising assistants.
  • Completes various projects and tasks as assigned by the Senior Financial Analyst or other management staff as requested.

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

The following is the basic qualification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

The following is the basic qualification: 

  • One year of experience in corporate accounting/financial function or Middle Office.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

The following are the basic qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel, including use of pivot tables, V-Lookups and other advanced features
  • Proficiency with accounting software

The following are the preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Familiarity with mark-to-market and lower-of-cost-or-market inventory concepts
  • Proficiency with SAP BFC / EPM / Excel Link Software
  • Proficiency with PowerBI
  • Ability to organize multiple responsibilities, prioritize workload and make progress on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical skills
