This position is responsible for preparation of a broad range of recurring tax returns for a recognized, diversified international firm engaged in processing, distribution and trading of commodities.

  • Prepare US corporate / partnership federal, state and local income tax returns.
  • Prepare Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns.
  • Prepare various other miscellaneous tax returns and filings.
  • Calculate estimated tax payments
  • Assist in the financial statement tax provision
  • Performs technical research and prepares documentation to evidence conclusions reached.
  • Gathers information necessary to prepare tax returns and complete special projects through interaction with accounting and financial personnel.
  • Assists with the preparation for various tax audits.
  • Process returns and maintenance of files.

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field (finance, etc.).

Master’s degree in Taxation or willingness to pursue.

Experience:

The following are the basic qualifications:

Minimum of three years of experience in a corporate tax department and/or public accounting firm with tax preparation experience, including experience associated with the corporate tax compliance function and knowledge of federal and state tax concepts.

The following is the preferred qualification:

Experience with CCH Access Tax (ProSystems FX Tax) preparation and CCH research tools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands):

The following are the basic qualifications:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of financial accounting

Proficiency with MS Excel, Word

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage daily requirements

Strong attention to detail and documentation and organizational skills
