About Coffee<\/h2>\n

Each year the world produces approximately 10 million tons of coffee, the two main species of which are Arabica and Robusta.<\/p>\n

Milder, more aromatic and with less caffeine, Arabica coffee makes up the majority of world production. It is grown mainly at higher altitudes in tropical and temperate regions of the Western Hemisphere, Brazil being the world\u2019s largest producer.<\/p>\n

Vietnam is the largest producer of Robusta coffee, which is largely grown at lower altitudes in tropical Asia and Africa.<\/p>\n

Brazil is the world\u2019s leading producer of coffee overall, followed by Vietnam, Colombia and Indonesia. The EU (as a region) consumes the most coffee, followed by the US, Brazil and Japan.<\/p>\n

Our Strengths in Mexico<\/h2>\n

Since entering the business in 1999, LDC has become one of the most important actors in the coffee supply chain in Mexico.<\/p>\n

To strengthen our position in the market, we built our own dry mill in Perote, Veracruz, in 2009, and established strategic partnerships with producers and suppliers throughout the states of Chiapas, Veracruz, Puebla and Oaxaca. Through these commercial agreements, we source every variety of coffee available in Mexico.<\/p>\n

We source Arabica and Robusta coffee both for export and for use in the dynamic domestic market. We also source coffee from other origins on behalf of our roaster partners in Mexico. Our Mexico City office manages the direct procurement from farmers and suppliers located all over the coffee growing areas, and with whom we have long-lasting relationship.<\/p>\n

We export to clients all over the world from the ports of Veracruz and Manzanillo as well as by rail to the US.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Our Assets in Mexico<\/h2>\n

Our mill in Perote, ‘El Cofre’, is one of the most advanced coffee milling facilities in Latin America. We can process coffee to almost any specification and keep coffee stored all year.<\/p>\n

Our office in Mexico City houses a state-of-the-art coffee laboratory featuring the latest roasting and cupping technology.<\/p>\n

As global exporters, we\u00a0are represented by sales offices in New York, New Orleans, Singapore, Milan, Tokyo, Geneva and Madrid. Our own dry mill is connected to the rail line, allowing for door-to-door deliveries to the US market.<\/p>\n

We export to clients all over the world from the ports of Veracruz and Manzanillo as well as by rail to the US.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Enlarging Our Product Portfolio<\/h2>\n

As part of LDC\u2019s strategy for growth, we are moving further downstream in our value chains, closer to consumers, and diversifying revenue through value-added products in key growth markets.<\/p>\n

LDC started merchandizing instant coffee in 2020, supplying the full spectrum of instant coffee products (spray-dried, agglomerated, freeze-dried). In 2024, we acquired Companhia Cacique de Caf\u00e9 Sol\u00favel<\/em><\/a>, a leading global soluble coffee producer, processor and exporter, with clients in over 70 countries. This acquisition supports our vertical integration strategy, adding established soluble coffee plants in Brazil to complement our existing joint venture instant coffee plant in Vietnam<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In parallel, we continue to reinforce our coffee origination capabilities to provide customers with supply chain stability and a direct link to coffee origins.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
