{"id":5054,"date":"2021-11-10T13:11:37","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T12:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ldc.com\/mx\/?post_type=press-release&#038;p=5046"},"modified":"2022-09-20T11:55:03","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T09:55:03","slug":"inauguran-instalacion-fotovoltaica-en-planta-de-cafe-de-louis-dreyfus-company-en-veracruz","status":"publish","type":"press-release","link":"https:\/\/www.ldc.com\/mx\/en\/press-releases\/inauguran-instalacion-fotovoltaica-en-planta-de-cafe-de-louis-dreyfus-company-en-veracruz\/","title":{"rendered":"Photovoltaic Installation Inaugurated at Louis Dreyfus Company Coffee Plant in Veracruz"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Veracruz, Mexico<\/strong>, November 10, 2021 &#8211; Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) and Iberdrola Mexico announced today the inauguration of a new photovoltaic system that will ensure 80% solar energy supply at LDC\u2019s coffee plant in Perote, Veracruz (\u201cEl Cofre\u201d), contributing to the company\u2019s sustainability goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comprising 486 solar panels that cover an area of more than 1,000 m<sup>2<\/sup>, the photovoltaic installation will produce 351 megawatt-hours annually, preventing the emission of 184 tons of CO<sub>2<\/sub> each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With restricted attendance and in strict compliance with applicable safety and hygiene measures, the opening ceremony was attended by Perote\u2019s Mayor-elect, Mr. Delfino Ortega Martinez; LDC\u2019s Country Manager for Mexico, Juan Camilo Bernal; and Iberdrola Mexico\u2019s Business Director, Vicente Aparicio, among other representatives from both companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe installation in Perote is part of LDC\u2019s global <em>Sustainable Energy Project<\/em>, initiated to drive the adoption of clean energies to reduce the company\u2019s carbon footprint, and complements similar photovoltaic installations already operational in Brazil, Kenya and China,\u201d explained Juan Camilo Bernal. \u201cThis is in line with LDC&#8217;s commitment to contribute to the <em>United Nations<\/em>\u2019 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and with our longstanding commitment to shaping increasingly sustainable food and agriculture production chains.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LDC\u2019s facility has adopted Iberdrola Mexico\u2019s Smart Solar scheme, which means that the installation was set up entirely by the energy company, ensuring that 100% of the energy it generates is clean and competitively priced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are proud that LDC trusted Iberdrola Mexico for the realization of this project, which will help the company reap the benefits of solar energy, a renewable and non-polluting resource that reduces CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions and helps decrease global warming\u201d, said Vicente Aparicio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veracruz, Mexico, November 10, 2021 &#8211; Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) and Iberdrola Mexico announced today the inauguration of a new photovoltaic system that will ensure 80% solar energy supply at LDC\u2019s coffee plant in Perote, Veracruz (\u201cEl Cofre\u201d), contributing to the company\u2019s sustainability goals.
