Published: Oct 13, 2017

SINGAPORE, October 13th 2017 – Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) Asia announced today that it has won the Bronze award for “Excellence in Cross-Border HR Programs” at the 2017 HR Excellence Awards.

“We are honored to receive this award for our graduate programs, which attract ambitious global talent, equipping them with fundamental skills and knowledge for success within the Group,” says Jessica Teo, Regional Head of HR for Louis Dreyfus Company in Asia. “These programs are essential to developing and retaining our best talent. We look forward to strengthening LDC’s value proposition as an employer of choice.”

LDC was recognized for its leading Graduate Trainee Program and Trading Academy. The company’s 18-month trainee program invests in ambitious graduate talents to help them become the leaders of tomorrow. The program uses a rotation structure that provides trainees with meaningful exposure to new people and projects in different areas of the business. Training is hands-on and tailored to each individual trainee. At the end of the program, trainees may be offered the opportunity to relocate within the region or globally.

LDC’s Trading Academy complements the Graduate Trainee Program, through a series of training modules that focus on the theoretical aspects of trading, in order to support and accelerate the development of junior traders. Sessions are delivered by senior traders and internal subject-matter experts, who cover topics such as fundamentals of trading, risk management, research and market analysis.

Together, these two programs largely contribute to the company’s strong talent pipeline, while supporting LDC’s entrepreneurial culture. Currently, LDC has 54 graduate trainees in Asia, with performance appraisal results showing that almost 70% have been rated by their line managers as very solid performers, and more than 20% are high performers.

Since its inauguration in 2013, the HR Excellence Awards has celebrated organizations in Asia that strive for excellence and outstanding human capital strategy and execution. Organized by Human Resources magazine, this year’s awards edition covered 25 categories. New categories included this year were Change Management, HR Innovation, and Workplace Culture categories, reflecting the central role that HR plays in today’s business environment.
