(LDC) announced today that it is enlarging its Senior Leadership Team, which will now comprise thirteen people, strengthening strategic thinking and positioning the company to explore new growth opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The additional appointees include several members of LDC\u2019s existing Executive Group, among them Messrs. Miguel Catella, Federico Cerisoli, Joe Nicosia, Murilo Parada, Markus Reis, Patrick Treuer and James Zhou, as well as Mr. Ian McIntosh, who rejoins LDC as Chief Strategy Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted to welcome Ian back to LDC, where he will coordinate matters relating to company strategy and oversee the management of four business platforms,\u201d said Gonzalo Ram\u00edrez Martiarena, LDC Chief Executive Officer. \u201cWorking within the Louis Dreyfus Group since 1986, Ian has gained crucial experience, expertise, and knowledge of our business that will enable him to contribute significantly to both strategy and commercial management.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A British national, Ian McIntosh joined the Group in 1986 in London. Having led the UK Grains desk from 1989 to 1991, he moved to Paris to trade global Feedgrains, and then to Melbourne to lead LDC\u2019s Australasian Grain activities. Returning to London in 1993 as a Sugar Trader, he was appointed Global Head of Sugar in 1996 to lead the platform\u2019s global integration and expansion. Between 1999 and 2006, Ian also managed LDC\u2019s global Coffee, Cocoa, Rice, Ethanol and Grains activities, supervised the Group\u2019s integration of its Metals business, and contributed to the creation of LDC\u2019s current structure. He was appointed Head of Europe and the Black Sea in 2007, and in 2008 left LDC to set up Edesia Asset Management as part of the Louis Dreyfus Group, serving as CEO and Chief Investment Officer until its closure in 2018. Ian holds a degree in Biological Sciences from Leeds University, UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHaving adjusted our business portfolio and operating model for greater efficiency, we are now well positioned to explore new avenues for growth through the creation of fair and sustainable value,\u201d Mr. Ram\u00edrez Martiarena said. \u201cThe newly appointed members of our Senior Leadership Team bring a range of seniority, experience, business acumen and specific market knowledge that will strengthen our decision-making process and facilitate the pursuit of our strategic goals and ambitions.
