About Coffee<\/h2>\n \n
\n

Each year the world produces approximately 10 million tons of coffee, the two main species of which are Arabica and Robusta.<\/p>\n

Milder, more aromatic and with less caffeine, Arabica coffee makes up the majority of world production. It is grown mainly at higher altitudes in tropical and temperate regions of the Western Hemisphere, Brazil being the world\u2019s largest producer.<\/p>\n

Vietnam is the largest producer of Robusta coffee, which is largely grown at lower altitudes in tropical Asia and Africa.<\/p>\n

Brazil is the world\u2019s leading producer of coffee overall, followed by Vietnam, Colombia and Indonesia. The EU (as a region) consumes the most coffee, followed by the US, Brazil and Japan.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n \n

Leveraging our sourcing networks across all major coffee-growing regions worldwide, LDC imports coffee into North America through\u00a0our office in Wilton, Connecticut.<\/p>\n

The US market is home to some of the most recognizable coffee brands in the world, and is the single largest consumer market overall today, with a retail value estimated at $75 billion.<\/p>\n

Roasters in the US are highly differentiated and increasingly quality focused, producing a wide variety of products, from traditional roast-and-ground coffee to single-serve capsules.<\/p>\n

LDC connects these roasters to our broad farmer network, prioritizing sustainability, efficiency and transparency from tree to cup. We offer customization options through programs that ensure timely delivery, strict quality standards, supply\u2011chain risk management and strong traceability and sustainability credentials.<\/p>\n
