We are looking for an experienced Trade Controlling professional with a strong commodity trading background to lead the Trade Controlling function of LDC Hungary. The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner to management, driving financial performance, supporting commercial decision-making, and ensuring effective risk awareness in a dynamic agricultural commodities trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Trade Controlling function of the company
  • Ensure the timely preparation of internal and external financial and management reports
  • Develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures related to the area of responsibility
  • Perform financial analyses and provide recommendations to management
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer with business and financial insights
  • Participate actively in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
  • Prepare efficiency analyses and identify improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across departments
  • Monitor business risks and proactively escalate issues when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and quality standards
  • Lead, coach, and support team members
  • Participate in people management activities including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, and employee development
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration

Required

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Trade Controlling, Commercial Controlling, Finance, or Accounting
  • Proven people management experience
  • Experience within a commodity trading environment is essential
  • Strong understanding of commodity trading processes, market dynamics, profitability analysis, and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and business partnering skills
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge, especially Excel
  • Fluent Hungarian and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced international environment

Preferred

  • Experience in agricultural commodities trading
  • Experience working in an international matrix organization
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and commodity market exposure
  • SAP knowledge is considered an advantage
