The Grains and Oilseeds (G&O) Platform is longest standing business in LDC. The Platform have an international presence in the world’s major producing and consuming regions and originate, handle, store, transform and merchandize products across the spectrum of Grains and Oilseeds products. Palm oil is one of the major product line under G&O Platform with strong asset and trading focus in Asia region.

As an Operational Control Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to produce and monitor the Commodity Positions, FX Exposures and Weekly P&Ls for Global Palm books managed in Singapore. You will be required to understand various trade flows, trading strategies and to produce high quality commentary and margin analysis as required. You will also be responsible for some aspects of the monthly closing process, working closely with near-shore Accounting.

You will also play an important role in from a business operations perspective, collaborating closely with Commercial and Execution teams. You will be actively involved and contribute in IT and Process Improvement/Efficiency projects.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare, monitor and understand Daily MTM prices and Trading Positions for Singapore/Malaysia Palm and STU book
  • Prepare and Analyze weekly P&Ls and FX Exposure report
  • Ensure accurate monthly closing in accordance with internal deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Produce Ad-hoc Reports and analysis as required by the Platform, Region or Central Reporting
  • Participate in process improvement projects in order to streamline the daily/weekly reporting process
  • Liaise and coordinate with other Departments including Commercial, Execution, Accounting, Credit and Market Risk team to ensure timely and accurate reporting

Experience

  • At least 3 years of working experience Product Control/Business Analysis/Management Accounting/Audit/Quantitative Analyst
  • Working knowledge of Financial Markets, in particular Commodity and Foreign Exchange Markets is preferred

 

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees & management
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and to prioritize.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and to take initiative; proactive attitude toward problems and issues
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure atmosphere. Flexibility on working time during periodic closings.
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses and implement process improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Programming skills (e.g. VBA, Python, Power BI) is preferred
  • Degree in Business/ Accounting / Economics
