Main Responsibilities

This position will support the Palm and Veg-oil Product Line by analyzing internal and external data sources, ensuring that palm research remains consistently updated, well-informed, and adaptable to market changes.

  • Maintain the research database and dashboards, ensure its integrity and accuracy.
  • Proactively monitor external data and market intelligence, stay abreast of routine releases, policies, and market trends.
  • Analyze and interpret data and information to extract valuable insights.
  • Collaborate with the origination research team and Destination PIC to ensure our export demand estimations accurately reflect market dynamics.
  • Assist in production estimation and adjustment for both long-term and spot projections, while regularly monitor and update weather indicators.
  • Assist in the analysis of new projects and initiatives, provide insights and fundamental-driven analysis to facilitate decision-making processes within the platform.

Experience

  • 0-2 years of working experience in research trading or agricultural markets, understanding of agricultural fundamentals.
  • Communication – Effective distribution of trading strategies and ideas
  • Collaboration – Be able to coordinate research with other stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and analyse qualitative and quantitative information

Other skills (Computer Skills, etc)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI. Experience of SQL, Python/coding is beneficial.
  • Good to have knowledge in commodity derivatives.

Languages

  • English (Fluent)

Academics

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics or other related fields
