We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic to join our team in Goondiwindi, QLD. In this role, you will provide high‑quality mechanical maintenance across all LDC Cotton Ltd mobile plant and vehicles. This includes carrying out repairs, managing on‑call breakdowns, supporting engineering projects, and ensuring all work meets company standards and Australian compliance requirements. You will maintain a strong focus on workmanship, safety, and continuous improvement, while working within all LDC Cotton policies and procedures and contributing to business goals.
Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:
- Perform mechanical repairs to a high standard.
- Complete Work Orders within R&M systems.
- Support continuous improvement and change‑management processes.
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards.
- Travel to remote sites as required.
- Promote and uphold Namoi values: Safety, Teamwork, Excellence, Integrity.
- Mentor apprentices and support team capability.
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong mechanical knowledge of mobile plant and control systems.
- Hydraulics experience.
- Strong communication and safety mindset.
- Experience in an engineering or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated safety leadership.
- Ability to identify and manage risks in a ginning facility.
- Strong compliance and reporting capability.
- Honest, reliable, adaptable, and safety‑focused.
- Works well under pressure and in a team.
- Able to work independently and mentor others.
- Physically capable for industrial conditions.
Experience
| Experience |
- Mechanical / Heavy Vehicle trade qualification.
- Cert IV Mechanical Engineering.
- High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, EWP, Confined Spaces).
- First Aid.
