At LDC, we are looking for a Laytime Specialist for our team in Varna. If you have a keen eye for detail, a genuine curiosity for digging into complex data, and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Laytime Calculations: Prepare, review, and finalize laytime calculations with both internal and external partners.
- Demurrage Negotiations: Interpret contract terms and negotiate the best commercial outcomes while maintaining professional relationships.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with operations, legal, and commercial teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
- Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners, brokers, agents, charterers, and owners located worldwide.
- Reporting & Risk Management: Analyze and report on laytime-related risks.

- Fluency in English: Being able to communicate clearly, both spoken and written, is key for smooth negotiations and working with others.

- Self-Motivation & Quick Learning: Committed to learning the ins and outs of the shipping industry as a whole, gaining a broad understanding of different functions to excel in the role.

Experience & Education:
- 1-2 years in Dry-Bulk Shipping or Commodity Trading (more senior profiles are welcome!)
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Shipping, Legal, or a numerical-based field (e.g., Finance, Accounting).
