This position is responsible for import and export flows of food and feed ingredients for international and domestic shipments. In addition, this position would include overseeing warehouse activities including receiving, storing and dispatching of goods to ensure on time deliveries to customers. This position would be responsible to develop key relationships with various carriers to maintain and or improve LDC’s competitive position within our industries. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with global trade regulations, optimize supply chain efficiency and maintain accurate inventory control.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Works with commercial team to ensure they have competitive transportation rates to accurately quote business for customers and manage existing business lanes
- Develop competence in LDC products’ markets, product qualities, transportation, warehousing and fulfillment needs
- Communicates professionally with customers, suppliers, and storage facilities to coordinate shipments in a timely manner
- Contributes to inventory management of LDC products (warehouse/tanks/rail cars/containers etc.)
- Understand quality requirements and effectively communicate issues from customers with LDC quality and operation teams
- Collaborate with 3rd party warehouse partners to manage inbound and outbound movement of goods and to manage inventory cycle times and quantities.
- Coordinate international shipments, including documentation, customs clearance and freight forwarding.
- Track shipments to ensure on time deliveries and resolve delays or discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain shipping documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, warehouse releases and packing lists. .
- Assists with other duties as assigned by the Head of Logistics
- Communicate with sales team any info that is helpful to determine pricing, freight risk awareness, and customer performance concerns.
- Assist with setting up carriers and maintaining documents and certificates.
- Utilize multiple systems to maintain carrier and freight information to assist with the coordinating of logistics for multiple products for inbound and outbound shipments
- Works with the logistics team to cross train and assist other team members efforts when needed
- Contribute to group discussions to improve processes and look for ways to elevate our business.

Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, business, finance, or economics
Experience
Basic qualifications:
- Two years of import/export experience in the US
Preferred qualifications:
- Freight forwarding experience, warehouse inventory and freight experience with liquid food grade products
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
Basic qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and documentation with firm understanding of incoterms
- Ability to communicate and minimize risks associated with international shipments.
- Knowledge of US and foreign regulations for international shipments of food products.
- Fundamental understanding of warehousing, storage, and inventory management processes.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles including lot/batch management, cycle counting, and calculation of storage KPIs including velocity, OS&D, and consolidated invoice settlement.
- Strong practical cost accounting, financial accounting, analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient on Excel and Office products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to set deadlines and adhere to them.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

- Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, fax machine.
Employee Supervision
- No supervisory responsibilities
Decision Making/Accountability
- Would be responsible for coordinating delivery of a sale with little supervision. Would communicate any concerns or risks they become aware of promptly to the appropriate audience. Would need to prioritize personal workload throughout the day to ensure meeting of deadlines.
