Overall Purpose and Objective of Position:
This position will directly support the merchandising staff at a grain and oilseed terminal in Burns Harbor, IN. This role will support the team with contracts, accounts payable, customer support and additional administrative tasks.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
· Apply, process and settle tickets daily
· Ensure settlements are correct and assist with check cutting
· Enter contracts, pricings, and amendments daily
· Set up new customer accounts
· Troubleshoot application and settlement problems while on the phone with the customer
· Assist customers with split payments and settlement review
· Assist customers with direct deposit account setup
· Prepare and maintain various spreadsheets relative to the business. Ex: Cash positions, current train locations with ETA’s, and FOB bushel ownership.
· Clearly communicate daily with customers and truck drivers
· Oversee and maintain system to keep truck driver insurance current
· Communicate with numerous railroads and trace rail cars
· Provide daily flat price position report for Kansas City office
· Assure accuracy and timeliness of data taken for Merchandisers, along with being the first check for reasonableness of accuracy received
· Purchase office supplies along with monitoring office supply inventory levels
· Assist in processing accounts payables
· Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” environment
· Time management is a key factor in this position
Additional Responsibilities:
• Code invoices and work with vendors to answer payment questions
• Code and send invoices in a timely manner to regional office
• Serves as back up for answering phone calls and quoting bids while merchandisers are unavailable
• Assist with human resources needs where applicable, including processing new hire paperwork and managing timecards
• Distribute afternoon bids to farmers and commercial accounts
• Complete other duties as assigned

· 2 years of execution / sales support experience within the grain industry, biofuels, or similar field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
Basic qualifications:
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict daily deadlines
· Strong practical accounting, analytical and organizational skills
· Strong verbal and written communications skills. Needs to feel comfortable talking to customers
and truck drivers on the phone
· Strong documentation skills
· Positive attitude, self-motivated
· Knowledge and interpretation of position reporting
· Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software, (e.g., Excel and MS Word)
· Occasionally work outdoors
· Must have ability to climb stairs and lift small objects
· Careful attention to detail
