Join Louis Dreyfus Company Australia as a Terminal Manager, leading the operations of our Melbourne Port Terminal. You’ll oversee all aspects of terminal performance, from safety and compliance to customer service, asset utilisation, and financial outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll drive efficiency, manage costs, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver world-class results.
Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:
- Champion a strong Safety, Health & Environment culture across the terminal.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Operations team, fostering high performance and accountability.
- Oversee recruitment, training, rostering, performance reviews, and employee relations.
- Manage grain quality, inventory, and compliance with client and government export standards.
- Drive operational excellence through planning, process improvement, and cost control.
- Ensure financial targets are achieved through effective P&L and budget management.
- Lead EBA negotiations and engage in union consultative meetings.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading operational teams, ideally in a unionised environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
- Background in rostering, workforce planning, and EBA/IR/ER management.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- Hands-on, practical approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational performance.
- Grain industry experience highly regarded.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with financial/operational data.

- Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing (desirable).
- Business Management / Administration qualification (desirable).
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma certification (desirable).
- Current driver’s licence (essential).
