The Grains & Oilseeds Controller plays a critical role within the LDC Australian Finance team, supporting the CFO in overseeing financial operations across the G&O platform in Australia. This role is responsible for management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, fixed asset integrity, stock control, and finance systems.
The position ensures timely reporting, provides strategic insights through data analysis, and leads capex reporting and fixed asset management. It also supports system integration and continuous process improvement, while managing and developing a small finance team.
Ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong management accounting experience and a solid understanding of operational finance in a commodities environment.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports for the G&O platform.
- Manage accounting inputs across revenue, cost allocation, inventory reconciliation, and asset lifecycle.
- Support annual budgeting and monthly forecasting in collaboration with FP&A.
- Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Register and lead capex reporting and compliance.
- Oversee stocktake processes and ensure integrity of finance systems (ERP/CSM).
- Provide system and project support related to finance system integrations.
- Lead and develop the G&O controlling team while promoting compliance with accounting standards.

Essential skills & Experience
- Membership of Professional accounting organization (eg CPA or ICAA)
- 5 or more years’ experience in a finance role preferred
- Understanding of the grain industry preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Technical accounting knowledge gained from a medium - large/complex corporate environment, reporting according to Australian Accounting Standards
- Good knowledge of accounting processes (including variance analysis, GL posting, accruals and reconciliations) and management reporting requirements
- Familiarity with key end-to-end business processes and associated internal controls such as budgeting and forecasting, invoicing and billing, procure-to-payment
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Self-driven with curious mindset
- Experience in meeting period end reporting deadlines including a daily reporting cycle
- Knowledge of SAPB1 and/or CSM ERP packages preferred
