Main Job Responsibilities
Trading, Risk Ownership & P&L Accountability
Independently manage a proprietary trading book with full ownership of daily P&L and risk.
Generate consistent, material P&L (target: USD 5m+ annually) through discretionary trading strategies.
Trade across one or more asset classes (FX, rates, fixed income, equity derivatives). Cross-asset focus is preferred, with the ability to express macro and relative-value views across markets.
Operate within a defined daily VaR limit, ensuring strict adherence to internal risk frameworks at all times.
Proactively identify, structure, and execute trading opportunities aligned with the firm’s risk appetite.
Analysis, Research & Performance Review
Contribute original trade ideas, thematic views, and cross-asset insights to the broader trading desk.
Maintain accurate records of trading activity and support transparent performance and risk reporting.
Governance, Infrastructure & Stakeholder Engagement
Ensure full compliance with internal systems, reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks.
Adapt quickly to internal trading infrastructure, risk systems, and operational workflows.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (Treasury, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Credit, Operations).
Maintain professional relationships with external counterparties, banks, and liquidity providers.
Actively contribute to the evolution of trading infrastructure, processes, and best practices.
Team & Culture
Operate as a team-oriented risk-taker, balancing individual P&L ownership with collaboration and information sharing.
Demonstrate strong cultural fit within a high-performance trading environment, contributing constructively to team dynamics.
Knowledge, Competencies & Skills
Minimum 8 years’ experience in an institutional or corporate trading role with a direct risk-taking mandate.
Proven ability to generate material standalone P&L in a professional trading environment.
Cross-asset trading experience strongly preferred; ability to express ideas across asset classes is a key differentiator.
In-depth knowledge of global financial markets, with Asia markets expertise highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills and disciplined trading mindset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across functions.
Fluency in English required
Education & Systems
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional certifications (CFA, CMT, CAIA, or equivalent) are advantageous.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; VBA or other quantitative/programming skills are a plus.
Strong working knowledge of trading platforms and market data systems (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or equivalent).
