Main Responsibilities:

Management Accounting

  • Responsibility for timely completion of reliable and accurate monthly management financials to assist the Deputy CFO and FP&A Manager in the completion of a monthly Australia Finance reporting for G&O platform
  • Producing key accounting inputs, together with Industry Controller, on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in the areas of revenue recognition, cost allocation and inventory reconciliations.
  • Responsibility for managing accounting impacts from industry asset procurement/divestment including accountability for key fixed asset schedules (Fixed Asset Register, Depreciation schedules, etc) and population of the consolidation tool for Group Accounting.
  • Providing a review of Trading financial results on a monthly basis and managing workloads in the Trading accounting team to ensure consistent, timing and reliable management reporting.
  • Interpret data and provide analysis for internal stakeholders on P&L, volume, revenue and production cost drivers each month or as per requested
  • Managing all Industry related queries at each annual audit.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Preparation and review of the annual company budget in collaboration with the FP&A Manager for the G&O platform including industry division for Ports, Country Sites and Industry Corporate business units
  • Support in monthly full-year Industry forecast, including tracking of industry-related volumes, productions costs, capital projects and other KPIs for Management and Executive

Fixed Asset Register and Capex Reporting

  • Responsibility for the maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register ensuring assets reconcile back to the general ledger and all depreciation journals in the accounting and tax books are accurate
  • Analysis of capex project applications to ensure they meet group investment hurdle rates
  • Responsibility for the production and distribution of monthly Capex reporting
  • Preparation of the quarterly fixed asset register for tax effective accounting.

Experiences:

  • Membership of Professional accounting organization (eg CPA or ICAA)
  • Finance or Accounting undergraduate degree
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a finance role preferred
  • Understanding of the grain industry preferred

Other skills (Computer Skills, etc):

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Technical accounting knowledge gained from a medium - large/complex corporate environment, reporting according to Australian Accounting Standards
  • Good knowledge of accounting processes (including variance analysis, GL posting, accruals and reconciliations) and management reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with key end-to-end business processes and associated internal controls such as budgeting and forecasting, invoicing and billing, procure-to-payment
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-driven with curious mindset
  • Experience in meeting period end reporting deadlines including a daily reporting cycle
  • Knowledge of SAPB1 and/or CSM ERP packages preferred

Job Description
