Based in Hamburg, this role will support LDC’s Coffee commercial strategy across Northern Europe, with a strong focus on Germany and selected neighboring markets.

The position combines sales development, market expansion, execution excellence, and strategic insight to strengthen LDC’s regional footprint and deliver sustainable growth. 

 

The selected candidate will report to the Marketing Manager for Germany

 

Missions and duties:

 

  • Sales & Strategic Development 
    • Execute LDC’s global coffee sales strategy for both Green and Soluble Coffee across the assigned region.

    • Develop new customer accounts and nurture long‑term, strategic partnerships with existing clients.

    • Support business development initiatives, including new trade flows, strategic positions, off‑take agreements, and sustainability-focused solutions.

    • Promote LDC’s products, capabilities, and value proposition to key customers, ensuring strong engagement and trust. 

  • Commercial Development 
    • Assess regional market needs and provide tailored commercial solutions.

    • Manage day‑to‑day customer relationships and respond promptly to inquiries.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date SPOT inventory lists to support commercial decisions. 

  • Execution 
    • Coordinate end‑to‑end execution of all trades, including logistics, inventory management, invoicing, exposure tracking, and quality control from origin to destination.

    • Implement creative and cost‑efficient logistics solutions to enhance service quality.

    • Collaborate closely with traders, execution teams, origin offices, freight providers, and support functions to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency. 

  • Market Intelligence 
    • Gather, analyze, and disseminate market intelligence on supply, demand, pricing, competition, and emerging trends within the region.

    • Translate market insights into actionable recommendations for both regional and global trading teams. 

 

Profile:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Engineering, or Commodity Trading
  • Fluent English and German are essential; knowledge of Russian or Polish will be considered a significant asset
  • 3+ years of experience in coffee trading, merchandising, green coffee sales 
  • Basic understanding of coffee sustainability programs and certifications 
  • Green coffee quality knowledge is a plus 
  • Interest in international logistics, trade or commodities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload under pressure
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate work with multiple stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
