About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Laytime Specialist to join our team in Varna. This role focuses exclusively on laytime, handling the end-to-end claims process while developing expertise in the operational and legal aspects of maritime logistics that influence commercial outcomes. You will work closely with chartering teams and vessel operations, as well as external parties such as agents and brokers, to manage disputes efficiently while staying aligned with commercial objectives.
Fluent English, both written and spoken, is absolutely essential for this role. All day-to-day communication, negotiations and correspondence are conducted in English. You will work extensively with contracts, statements of facts, notices and other documentation drafted in English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of your assigned laytime claims: manage, submit and defend them independently.
- Think strategically, uncover the details that matter and negotiate favorable outcomes, even under challenging conditions.
- Resolve disputes efficiently, protecting the company’s interests while maintaining professional client relationships with both internal and external counterparties.
- Stay curious, keep learning, challenge assumptions and drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor and support junior members and graduates, sharing expertise and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a dry-bulk laytime role.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong understanding of charter party terms and laytime principles, with commercial awareness and negotiation experience.
- Proficiency with IMOS and/or SEDNA is an advantage.
- Problem-solving mindset, able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
