  • Implementation and supervision of agreed research methodology for crop estimation, export /Imports and demand of Made ups of textile industry.
  •  Regularly updating and maintaining databases / time series data and contribution to the development of the research methodology and strategy and continuously bring improvisation besides following the regular methodology.
  •  Continuous review of the methodology being applied in view of observations made during crop tours, difference surveys etc.
  •  Collection and evaluation of primary and secondary data and performing sanity check on databases and external sources to ensure consistency of data.
  • Creating automation tools using macros, power pivot in MS Excel Power BI and Python coding, which can help in making the task of updating data, swift and efficient.
  • Estimate Cotton and production areas by collecting data from a) official sources regularly b) Confirmation of area estimates through visual estimation of area changes c) Farmer interviews d) Gathering of information from third parties like research institutes, state farms etc.
  • Estimate supply and demand of entire cotton textile value chain such as upstream and downstream of cotton industry and track all data i.e. such as Govt. Crops estimate, export, import, financial reports of public textile industry, trade data prices etc. 
  • Highlight the risks to the  Supply & Demand of crops ,upstream and downstream public textile crop estimate by working out various scenarios. Assessment of the impact of various scenarios on yields and associated probabilities such as weather, pests, diseases and changing costs or supply of inputs or labor etc
  • Conducting Gin, Mills & Farmers surveys and Balance Sheet reconciliation.  
  • Creating comprehensive and user friendly databases for cotton supply and demand estimates.
  • Coordinate with Agronomists / regional teams for pressing surveys.
  • To be able to calculate demand /consumption of Agri commodities.

Qualification & Experience

  •  Master’s in Maths & Economics / Masters in Statistics/ Masters in Agricultural statistics/Masters in Agri Business.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience with the right skill sets.
  • Fresher with the right skill sets is also encouraged to apply.
  • Agri Commodities experience (Preferable)

  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
