Overall Purpose and Objective of Position
This position is responsible for processing daily derivative trade activity for the clearing division of a fast-paced international commodity trading firm.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Process trades cleared by external brokers in back-office system after verification against trader confirmations.
Perform end of day reconciliation of positions and ensure trades are in the correct accounts.
Upload internal trades in back-office system and verify that there is no position or P&L impact.
Communicate with other team members, traders, and brokers to resolve any trade discrepancies.
Review and process account corrections.
Identify and allocate trades from our clearing house to other brokers to clear.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in cross-training of all operational duties to provide proper coverage of departmental functions.
Continuously review day to day processes of the department to ensure clarity and efficiency.
Prepare reports/documents for Margins and Reporting group as needed.
Assist in any ad-hoc projects as needed.

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
The following is the preferred qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Professional certification in accounting/finance.
The following is the basic qualification:
High School diploma.
Experience
With a bachelor’s degree, 2 (plus) years of experience in commodities or financial back-office operations.
With a High School diploma, 5 years of experience in commodities or financial back-office operations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are the basic qualifications:
Fluent in English-both spoken and written.
Solid proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook is a must. (Advance Excel skills are a plus)
Knowledge of back-office software such as ION XTP or XTP Clearing (Seals) is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, reactive, and challenging trading environment.
Detail-oriented and able to do analytical work to resolve discrepancies.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
