Key Responsibilities:  

  • Handling and monitoring export-import shipments in bulk in compliance with contractual requirements/conditions.
  • Handled port operations, customs formalities & well versed with logistical procedure for bulk shipment.
  • Warehouse management – space availability as per commercial plans, rail and truck handling, unloading and loading operations, calculation of handling loss
  • Vessel operations: nomination of vessel, checking for suitability, ETA, ETC, ETD tracking, port restrictions, review of charter party terms, preparation of laytime.
  • Quality and quantity checks: coordinate with supervision agency and handling agency for maintenance of quality and quality of cargo stored. Obtaining month-end stock reports.
  • Accurate and timely co-ordination with shipper, buyer, overseas offices, internal teams, vessel agents, handling agent, supervision agency and other parties involved in shipment.
  • Be aware of and avoid cost and consequences related non-accomplishment of shipment deadline and contractual period.
  • Thorough working experience on Letters of credit - Letter of credit to be checked and verified in accordance with contractual terms and conditions followed by issuance & presentation of clean documents well within time.
  • Checking and/or preparation of shipping documents; presenting for payments as per contractual terms
  • Putting the required party on contractual notices.
  • Ensuring documents and invoices are received and/or issued as per GST requirements
  • Handle claims & insurance matters related to the shipments.
  • Preparation of weekly reports and updating accurate data in working system as well as in shipment files.
  • Daily reporting / status updates of shipments under various contracts, stock positions and high-lighting potential delays or defaults.
  • Proper filing and maintenance of records. 
  • Dedicated and to work as per the requirement of Job / shipment, time should not be a barrier.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in a large organization handling multiple commodities
  • Proficiency in MS-Office and strong business communication abilities
  • Advanced level of proficiency in MS-Excel will be a plus
  • Highly attention to details, speed & accuracy of work to complete tasks on time
  • Experience in commodities trading- documentation/ support function will be a definite plus
  • Knowledge of international trade & execution will be a plus
