The Grains and Oilseeds (G&O) Platforms are two of LDCs longest standing business. The Platforms have an international presence in the world’s major producing and consuming regions and originate, handle, store, transform and merchandize products across the spectrum of Grains and Oilseeds products.
As an Operational Controlling Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to produce and monitor the Positions, FX Exposures and Weekly P&Ls for the G&O business in SEA which currently includes Trading, Marketing and Distribution activity primarily in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Australia. You will be required to understand various trade flows, trading strategies and to produce high quality commentary and margin analysis as required. You will also be responsible for ensuring some elements of the monthly closing process, working closely with Accounting.
You will also play an important role from a business operations perspective, supporting the SEA G&O Operational Controller and collaborating closely with Commercial and Execution teams. You will actively contribute in areas such as Commercial Margin, Net Interest, Working Capital and Secondary Cost analysis. You may also be involved in IT and Process Improvement/Efficiency projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare, monitor and understand the Trading Positions, Weekly P&Ls and FX Exposures for the SEA G&O businesses
- Provide Commentary and analysis on Desk/Platform performance
- Ensure an accurate monthly closing in accordance with internal deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Produce Ad-hoc Reports and analysis as required by the Platform, Region or Central Reporting
- Liaise and communicate with other Departments including Trading, Execution and Accounting
- Propose/Champion/Participate/Collaborate with colleagues in other Departments in business process improvement initiatives or global projects to align/streamline processes in line with LDC’s Trade to Cash Principles
Experiences:
- 2 years of experience in Product Control/Business Analysis/Management Accounting/Audit
- Working knowledge of Financial Markets, in particular Commodity and Foreign Exchange Markets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees & management
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and to prioritize.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and to take initiative; proactive attitude toward problems and issues
- Ability to work in a high-pressure atmosphere. Flexibility on working time during periodic closings.
- High level vision with attention to detail.
- Ability to identify/control weaknesses and implement process improvements.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of SQL and PowerBI is a plus
Academics:
- Degree in Business/Accounting/Economics or similar field.
