LDC’s Coffee Sustainability team requires support to strengthen its data management strategy and systems, in close coordination with origin teams. The role will contribute to building and improving data pipeline, managing sustainability documents and preparing for compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by organizing, verifying, and processing large volumes of data. The internship will therefore combine three key areas:

  • Technical Development and Data Tools – building and improving digital tools (Python, SQL, Power BI, QGIS) to optimize workflows, reporting, and data exchange across platforms.
  • Certification and Compliance Support – manage data and reporting for sustainability standards, while coordinating with teams and supporting daily operations.

1- Technical Development and Data Tools (70%)

  • Work with documentation to implement external APIs in Python for data exchange with third-party platforms and internal systems.
  • Explore and implement SQL integrations with external applications.
  • Develop Python-based tools to improve document tracking and follow-up.
  • Enhance Power BI dashboards by implementing new rules and features.
  • Work with geospatial data in QGIS to prepare and share datasets with clients.

 

2- Data and Compliance Support (30%)

  • Manage and process data to ensure compliance with LDC’s sustainability documentation and EUDR obligations.
  • Coordinate documentation and client requests with local teams, assisting the sustainability team in daily operations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows, tools, and reporting processes.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Python programming, demonstrated through academic work, professional experience, or personal projects. Passion for programming and self-driven learning are highly valued.
  • Strong interest in commodity supply chains and sustainability.
  • Knowledge of data management and integration (SQL experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Power BI, QGIS, and Power Apps are a plus (or willingness to learn).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.

Technical/ Functional skills:
