Performs professional accounting work including compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data. Requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles and bookkeeping experience. May include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation.

Maintain and manage the reconciliation and analysis of data in financial systems from front office system to back office system to ensure financial records are accurate as per procedure guidelines.

Manage and Reconcile the Companies’ financial Position Reports to ensure compliance/audit obligations are met. Preparation of statutory financial statements.

Ensure procedures are documented for regulator, compliance and financial processes and tasks.

Assist in the preparation and compilation of the annual budget, annual reforecast and 5 year business plan for the company.

Active involvement in the continuous improvement of Accounting Systems

Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

3-5 years’ experience working in a finance team preferably within the commodities/agribusiness sector.

Deep knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and Australian tax legislation.

Understanding of double entry accounting principle

Strong technical knowledge on consolidation and preparation of group income tax return

Ability to communicate effectively, manage time effectively and manage data.

Has a keen analytical eye and would enjoy the opportunity to help formulate and then implement the

regular provision of detailed analysis to senior management and a trading team

Understanding of Derivative products (futures, forwards and options). Understanding of treasury/funding

functions

Excellent Microsoft Access and Excel skills are required.

Experience in the agricultural and commodity trading industry or financial services.
