We are seeking a skilled HR Team Lead to join our HR team in Antwerp at a subsidiary of the LDC group, with a primary focus on all life-cycle HR activities for Belgium-based employees and providing support on HR-related matters for the site in Barcelona, Spain. This position will work closely with the EMEA HR community to deliver high-quality HR support to all internal customers in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

 

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership capabilities, a hands-on approach, and a passion for people development. You will oversee core HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training, performance management, and legal compliance, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals and values.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all HR daily-to-day activities related to the employee life cycle of our employees based on the respective geography:
  • Ensure seamless execution of HR operations, including payroll, benefits, international mobility cases, compliance, and employee file management in accordance with GDPR and data retention legislation.
  • Manage employment contracts and ensure HR policies are current, legally compliant, and well communicated.
  • Ensure data quality accuracy and monitor HR metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives and make data-driven improvements.
  • In collaboration with the local HR team, manage the onboarding process for new joiners, ensuring a positive experience for them and setting the path for success. Manage the off-boarding process for leavers.
  • Coordinate training programs with external providers, manage training records in the system, and follow up on training costs and budget. Analyze development needs and provide adequate solutions to the Managers.
  • Respond to employee queries and requests, providing answers in a timely manner
  • Lead or contribute to process improvement /efficiency, and digitalization of HR admin activities.
  • Collaborate in the recruitment activities for Belgium in collaboration with the Regional Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Provide support and/or lead specific projects related to a variety of topics like events, payroll, budget management, holiday management, and so on.
  • Demonstrate expert-level understanding and application of local employment law. Review and benchmark the internal and external environments to improve HR policies and initiatives and enhance overall business performance.
  • Support business leaders with organizational design and workforce planning.
  • Collaborate with the Regional HR Team and other departments to ensure alignment and effective HR operations.
  • Liaise and manage relationships with external HR service providers, labor institutions, and government authorities.
  • Develop and manage the local HR team members.

 

  • 7-10 years of experience as an HR coordinator or HR Generalist in a multinational environment.
  • English and Dutch fluency is mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Organized, approachable, and able to juggle multiple priorities, not afraid to tackle a large variety of topics.
  • Sound knowledge of union/employee relations and works council management, as well as local labor laws (Dockers is a plus) and government requirements.
  • Knowledge of Workday and/or UKG (PeopleDoc) is a plus.
  • Very good command of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
