The Crush Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of production and operations of the Crushing Plant, SHE, Quality Products, Production, Efficiencies, KPI, Projects,  Operations and Housekeeping .  Primary function is to ensure that process in the Crush Plant is completed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with government regulations and Company standards. This include reception of beans, storage, pellet hulls, silos and meal load out area, and the Preparation and  Extraction process.  This position works independently with supervision of Crush to help develop and support the goals and strategies of LDC and the facility. 

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Maintain, and enforce Safety programs for all personnel and plant equipment.
  • Execute employee development plans to ensure competent workforce, development of process schedule, housekeeping, and production planning which includes maintaining proper coverage by managing production staffing schedules for production staff.
  • Work with all facility functional areas to satisfy customers, meet quality assurance, human resources and budget requirements
  • Accountable for all operational aspects of the Crush process and efficient performance of production supervisor functions on a daily basis consistent with ensuring a safe workplace, meeting Key Performance Indicators, producing Food safe product, and maintaining an environmentally sound facility
  • Ensure all applicable government regulations are met at all times. Assist in site construction management and CapEx.
  • Develop training and operating procedures as needed / directed.
  • Direct and coordinate all maintenance activities with production management. Report any Crush equipment issues to maintenance staff.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative resources to resolve production opportunities, improve efficiency, or otherwise reduce cost.
  • Complete regular checks of extraction and preparation staff and equipment to ensure that standard operating procedures are followed and Company standards are met.
  • Accountable for meeting budgets, efficiencies, manufacturing costs, and capital expenditures in all areas of production to meet facility needs and production goals.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies to ensure efficient Crush operations.
  • Make improvements to Crush process as necessary to maximize efficiency, increase product quality and/or lower costs.
  • Respond to Crush issues or alarms and lead investigations as necessary.
  • Collect, record and analyze crush data to optimize efficiencies and product quality.
  • Notify the Crush superintendent of potential safety hazards, equipment failures, operational inconsistencies and employee incidents.
  • Coaches, trains and provides support to Operators/others.

Education

High School Diploma as minimum .

Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience,

Experience

3+ years related experience in Oilseeds bussiness as a Supervisor, experience in a crushing Plant is desired.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Licenses

Demonstrated leadership ability in a plant supervision position.  Able to set clear, reasonable expectations and hold staff accountable

Demonstrated ability to provide and maintain a safe and effective working environment.

Project development and management experience.

Reliability-Centered Maintenance training and experience is highly desirable.

Working knowledge of budgets, process reports, and other financial statements.

Proficient with standard software products.
