About the role

The Louis Dreyfus Company are currently recruiting for the fulltime position of Assistant Ginner, based in Katherine. This position is part of a team who are responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all aspects of cotton ginning. Whilst based in Katherine, this position may require travel to work at other LDC gin sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Gin operation and safety
  • Monitor and maintain machinery and equipment to ensure continuity of production and quality
  • Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the gin site
  • Assist the ginner and site manager to ensure work permits are completed for all high risk activity

Preferred skills

  • Ginning experience or mechanical, maintenance, electrical or production experience
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses in process and implement best practices
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good work ethic 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Sound computer skills
