About the role

The cotton Yardperson assists with the yard operations on site to ensure operations are carried out in a safe and effective manner. This includes loading and unloading trucks, the maintenance of the yard and its machines, ensuring that the seed temperature is maintained and that the overall SHE principals are being followed with a high level of aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Seed temperature, monitoring and reporting, seed loading
  • Maintenance of machines
  • Yardperson Duties, maintaining yard
  • Tractor driving, slashing and drag bucket
  • Forklifts/ Load operation
  • SHE (Safety, Health and Environment)

Essential skills

  • Sound knowledge of SHE (Safety, Health and Environment)
  • Experience in cotton gin or warehouse environment
  • Forklift Licence
  • Experienced Front end Loader operator
  • intermediate knowledge of IT systems
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Good time management, and completion of tasks/duties within time frame of specified deadlines

Desired but not essential skills

  • Use of Equipment/ mechanical knowledge for maintenance
