Growing Market Share

We grew LDC’s market share at origin and destination in both raw and white sugars, and delivered good results in ethanol and energy markets.

Capturing Opportunities

Although the Covid-19 pandemic severely impacted the global sugar market, we leveraged our trading expertise and large geographic footprint to capture multiple arbitrage opportunities and participate in the delivery market.

Embracing Data Science

As part of our data science journey, our research team used remote satellite imagery to estimate yields in all the main producing countries around the world, and started developing an algorithm for acreage estimates.

The Platform is changing to accommodate the increasing need for data science to support core trading expertise. Both capabilities will be fundamental as we continue to expand our merchandizing business, at both origin and destination, and diversify our product portfolio.
