Our Strengths in Australia
Our Cotton Platform is a large-scale originator and handler of Australian cotton and cottonseed.
After acquiring Dunavant’s Australian cotton business in 2010, LDC scaled up its position in the domestic cotton market from our office in Brisbane, where our Cotton team manages the origination of raw cotton and cottonseed from farmers, many of whom have long-standing ties with LDC.
We also offer risk management and financing solutions to key grower groups, aiming to add value to local farmers, as we build our relationship with them as a preferred business partner.
Cotton is processed at growers’ preferred ginning site among LDC’s three processing plants Emerald, Dalby and Moree.
The company has a large-scale network of warehouses and seed storage sites, both inland and at port locations, enabling the efficient movement of products from gin, to port, to destination.
Committed to Sustainability
From sourcing certified cotton to promoting best practice within and beyond our value chain, we work proactively toward increasingly sustainable operations and supply chains, both ourselves and in collaboration with partner organizations such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
